Restaurant Dinner Recipes

from:

. My family has this tradition where once a month we have dinner at one of my brothers' houses. The thing is, I have recently been added to this monthly rotation because I have finally moved out. I am more then happy to host this special tradition but I want to "one up" anything my brothers have done. Sadly for me last months dinner at my brother Jacob's house was beyond expectation.

He surprised everyone with a specially catered meal from one of the top Italian restaurants in the area. It was a major surprise, but, with my month coming up fast, how would I ever top it?

I know it sounds ridiculously petty, but you have to understand I was born into an extremely competitive family. I learned how to race before I could walk, as I like to say. It might sound like it was difficult to grow up in a competitive household, but, in all actuality, it was a blast. Everyday was filled with so much excitement. It was a riot of laughs in my house. We'd poke fun at each other and rub it in if we knew we were better at something then someone else, but it was all lighthearted. In fact, our favorite saying growing up was, "if I didn't make fun of you, then it means I don't like you."

Our house was full of love and everyone knew it; that's what these monthly dinners are all about, keeping up and looking out. Nevertheless, since I was born competitive, it is a competition. So, I must ask myself, how do I beat a catered meal? The answer came quite easily. A few simple searches on the internet and I was home free. How, you ask? Well, let me tell you.

Upon my searching I came across a cookbook, it might as well been named "How to Beat Jacob's Fancy-Pants Ooh-La-La Dinner" because it was perfect. This cookbook held within its pages some of the recipes to the best restaurants around. I couldn't be more pleased because the way I was going to beat my brother's fancy feast was to personally cook for my family the recipes that they all loved; a personalized meal for each member.

Believe me that book just saved my place on my family's "Wall of Fame." If you have a competitive family or just love eating-out, find yourself one of these fabulous books
