Cooking & Recipes - Tips To Good Buying and Proper Storage

from:

Have you ever wanted a certain recipe, only to discover that it has ran out. Wow, how disappointed you might have been. But this could actually have been avoided if you have kept a list of what has gone down or completely ran out and needed replenishing. It is a good practice to keep a pen and a pad somewhere in the kitchen so as to pencil down items that need to be purchased.

However, do not over stock items. This could actually lead to spoilage, especially when they are perishable. Again, consult your list and see what item needs replenishing. It is not a good practice and indeed usually disappointing to have a particular item replenished when you still have plenty of it. Have a physical check of your refrigerator, cupboards, pantry, etc to be doubly sure.

It could very exhausting a task to move from one store to another. It will save more time, strength and energy if one can get all one wants in a place. Select a convenient store with the proper products and services required. You aren’t going to be wasting money either. So, be sure the store has the right price and the right variety.

Buying at impulse can lead to not buying right. As much as you can, avoid shopping when hungry, probably coming back from work or a wearing engagement. Chances are that you will make some avoidable mistakes as the composure is not there since it will be a rush, rush thing. As much as you can, try to make out time to do your shopping. Be in your right frame of mind when buying. Avoid buying over ripped and deteriorating items and remember to buy less quantity of perishables. Also, avoid products in damaged or rusted can.

Exposing food to flies, dust or other forms of contamination is a very unhygienic and unhealthy practice. This could cause the growth of bacteria in your cooking environment and this is very dangerous. Ensure they are stored in suitable containers with proper fitting lids. Place waste in a bin with tight fitting lid to prevent cross contamination.

Be sure you want to use an item before defrosting it. Never defrost and then refreeze. And most importantly, be sure to buy the right combination of recipe as found in your secret recipe cookbook.

Remember always to keep a tab on your items. Always replenish but don’t over stock items. Have a physical check of your refrigerator, cupboards, pantry, etc. Select a convenient store with the proper products and services required, with the right price. Shop when you will be more composed and avoid over ripped and deteriorating items as well as damaged cans. Store food in a suitable container and keep bin a tight fitting lid. Avoid refreezing defrosted item.

Safe cooking. Great cooking.
